- In his story we learn how the protagonist Emilia, who does not feel at home in her female body, decides after careful consideration to undergo a gender reassignment. This is not an easy decision and the reader experiences Emilia's doubts and thoughts in her dialogues with the mirror image and with friends. She also has to fight for acceptance in her immediate environment, endure suspicion, and learn to live with her own insecurities. In addition, there is the new roommate Lisa, who in Emilia's eyes is so very beautiful and feminine and self-confident. After Emilia has already started the transition to being Emil suddenly everything is not so clear and she sets out on a path "back". Peer Jongeling has created an empathetic comic about gender, sexual orientation, self-determination and the search for identity.
