Summary
One of the central axes of the tour of the Quimbaya Gold Museum is the garden, now transformed into an ethnobotanical park. Designed by architect Rogelio Salmona, and opened in 1986, it presents an exhibition that reveals the relationship of art with gardens. The exhibition "Paraísos y jardínes" (Paradises and gardens) is a thematic tour of works from the collection ranging from the 17th century to the present. On this occasion, outstanding pieces from the collection of the Banco, such as the Flemish works of the seventeenth century, "Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden", by Jan Brueghel the Younger, and "Summer" and "Autumn", attributed to Jan van Kessel the Elder, or recent acquisitions of contemporary artists such as Santiago Díaz Escamilla, Kevin Mancera and Laura Huertas. Likewise, the iron sculpture "Terrazas" by artist Eduardo Ramírez Villamizar (Colombia 19922-2004) is part of the exhibition and will now have a permanent place on the terraces of the Museo del Oro.
