- Includes excerpts of texts attributed to Aelianus, (the possibly fictitious) Physiologos, and Denis Diderot.
- Printed on one side of 10 bifolia, each constituting a signed print. The other 2 bifolia include the t.p./introd. and colophon. All loosely laid in a clamshell box.
- "This bestiary was designed and printed by John Ross in the workshop at East Hampton with the assistance of Tim Ross and Ann Marie Farinacci. The paper used is Stonehenge white, the English text is set in Primer on the Linotype by Kent LeFebvre of Cote Typesetting in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The Greek type is set by Cosmos Printing in New York City. Both texts are printed on a Vandercook proving press in East Hampton, New York. Headline and display types are from the High Tide Collection set and printed by John Ross. The images are made from collagraph plates, most of which were made in Venice, Italy, in the summer of 1992, and were printed on a Brand etching press in the High Tide workshop. The binding is by James DiMarcantonio of the Hope Bindery in Providence, Rhode Island. There are a total of 25 copies of this book, 20 with black and white relief images and 5 with color images intaglio and relief" -- colophon.
