Patrick Chamoiseau (1953) is a Martiniquean author known for his work in the créolité movement. His many published works span a variety of forms and genres, including novels, essays, children's books, screenplays, theatre and comics. His most well-known novel is Texaco (Prix Goncourt in 1992).
