Summary
Panel discussion on the work of the playwright, touching on such topics as the writing process, response to critics, the importance of titles, and related matters. Durang describes how he came to write Sister Mary Ignatius explains it all for you, and how the title of his satire A history of the American film may have hurt its ticket sales. Pearson discusses her play Sally and Marsha, and how it developed. Levin discusses the Broadway success of his long-running thriller Deathtrap. Davis talks about his play Mass appeal. Van Peebles, who is both producer and star of The waltz of the stork, which he wrote, describes his challenges fulfilling all these duties. Theatrical agent Luis Sanjurjo talks about his work representing dramatists. The panelists also take questions from members of the audience.
