Summary

This publication contains the statements by representatives of non-governmental organizations that were delivered from 14 to 23 May 2013 during the informal thematic discussions at the meeting, held in Geneva, of the Open-ended Working Group to develop proposals to take forward multilateral nuclear disarmament negotiations for the achievement and maintenance of a world without nuclear weapons. This is being published in order to provide the substantive context of civil society contributions to the work of the Group. The volume reflects a comprehensive compilation of civil society views that shaped their input to the report of the Group to the General Assembly. The presentations in this volume also offer thought-provoking approaches for achieving a world free of nuclear weapons for the consideration of policy makers and the wider international community.
