Summary

The exhibition "Prestidigitator" presents seven oil paintings by Jorge Macchi (b. Argentina 1963) that contradict the sensible experience and expectations of traditional pictorial culture in an elaborated game of obstacles and deviations of the experience . A collection of broken images, where the surface of industrial shapes constantly competes with a background that is continuously fragmented and indecipherable and that to some extent are an iconic rejecting the assumptions of a so-called abstract painting.
