- 1 audio disc; 4 3/4 in. +
- Summary
- Cappella Romana's latest release is an intrepid musical exploration of late medieval Cyprus. Hear both Byzantine Greek and Latin chants in honor of St. Hilarion, the patron saint of Cyprus, and music from the famous Cypriot Codex (Torino J.ii.9) infused with Mediterranean flair and vocalism unlike any recording of it to date. Among the medieval Byzantine chants on the disc, two feature exuberant "kratemata," textless songs of boundless joy.
