Summary

Memoirs written by Fidelio Despradel, anti-Trujillo revolutionary and one of the principal leaders of the revolutionary Movimiento 14 de Junio, the armed insurrection in 1963, and the 1965 civil war, La Guerra de Abril. This two volume edition offers a first-hand account of a Dominican leftist militant who fought to end the Trujillo dictatorship and oppressive government of Joaquin Balaguer. This testimony offers new perspectives on resistance to dictatorship in the Dominican Republic.
