- Summary
- The story is set in China in legendary times. Prince Calaf falls in love with the icy cold Princess Turandot. To obtain permission to marry her, a suitor has to solve three riddles, with any wrong answer resulting in death. Calaf passes the test, but Turandot refuses to marry him. Calef offers her a way out: if she discovers his name before dawn the next day, he wil be ready to die.
