Summary
The aim of this book is to study the modalities of territorial structuring and management of resources in the Middle Neolithic I and II between 4500 and 3800 BC. JC, in the Paris Basin. Based on a database of occupations of the Middle Neolithic, integrated into a geographic information system, a multi-scale spatial analysis was carried out. In a first step, a macro-regional and diachronic approach to the structuring of territories is based on the hierarchy of all occupations. In a second step, a micro-regional approach is carried out in two analysis windows, in the Vaudreuil loop (at the confluence of the Seine and the Eure) and in the Aisne valley. The predictive modeling of the preferential environmental contexts of the sites, development of maps of reliability and confidence in archaeological documentation, allow to develop a critical reflection on the distribution of sites. It appears that even in relatively well-archaeologically assessed areas, the view of the stand remains biased. The development of occupational models shows a diversity of forms of territorial structuring, resulting from regional development processes, between the middle of the fifth and the beginning of the fourth millennium.
