- "Known as the Tabla King, Altaf Hussain Tafu Khan comes from the prominent Tafu Garana of Punjab. ustad Tafu, began his career with a hit song "sun we bolori aakh walea" from the movie Anwara in 1970. His tabla performances have always been exceptionally skillful, so much so that the famous Madam Noor Jehan would often request ustad Tafu to perform with her on stage as she was a fan of his work. He went on to compose music for over a hundred films. With the changing times, classical music in Pakistan has mixed with contemporary forms of music to create the hit music show Coke Studio and Ustad Tafu is one of the most revered Tabla players of the project. His sons have pursued careers in music as well. Ustad Tafu continues to galvanize his audience with his awe-inspiring Tabla performances."
