- Summary
- The history of this site in northern Dresden could hardly have been any more eventful. Built as the Landesschule Dresden in Klotzsche by Heinrich Tessenow and Oskar Kramer during the 1920s, the complex on the Thümmelsberg was abused as a State National Political Educational Institution from 1934 onwards, and later became a Soviet military base. It is now the location of an academy operated by the German Social Accident Insurance. This book combines text and images to tell the full story of this exceptional building complex for the first time. Informative contributions and photos of daily life and architectural features provide insights into site life both past and present? and recount a remarkable chapter in the history of Germany and Dresden.
