Summary
  • Gjennom etablering av 'byggjeplassar' for restaurering og vøling av gamalt murverk, og gjennom nye anlegg, vart det gjort eit stort arbeid med å byggje og overføre kunnskap i tørrmuring til nye handverkarar. Kring 300 personar var innom prosjektet i kortare eller lengre opplæringstiltak, nærare 30 ulike tiltak (restaurering, vøling og nybygg) vart gjennomført, 120 elevar i vidaregåande skule fekk ei innføring i faget, og om lag 15 personar har nytta eller nyttar i dag kompetansen dei tileigna seg i samband med jobb. Prosjektet er eit godt døme på korleis dokumentasjons- og opplæringsprosjekta kan nyttast til å vidareføre kunnskap i gamle handverk til ein ny generasjon, og for nokon jamvel skape grunnlag for eigen næring.   • Through the establishment of 'construction sites' for the restoration and grouting of old masonry, and through new facilities, a great deal of work had been done to build and transfer knowledge in dry masonry to new craftsmen. 30 different measures (restoration, vøling and new construction) were implemented, 120 students in upper secondary school received an introduction to the subject, and about 15 people today benefit or use the skills they acquired in connection with work. The project is a good example of how the documentation and training project can be used to pass on knowledge in old crafts to a new generation, and for some to even create a basis for their own industry.
