"Within the framework of the two hundred years of the birth of Benjamin Franklin Rawson, together with the anniversaries of the opening of the new building and foundation of the institution, the Franklin Rawson Provincial Museum of Fine Arts and the Banco San Juan Foundation launched the first summon for the Franklin Rawson Award for the visual arts, with the aim of selecting and rewarding two acquisition works and four special mentions, as a stimulus to the visual arts of the province of San Juan. This way, local artistic production is recognized, encouraged and disseminated, as well as the enhancement, support and strengthening of the work of artists from the province."
