Summary
This book contains one thousand drawings by Jørgen Michaelsen. There is also an epilogue entitled Neutron Commune by Macrina Bouhage Falkenballe from which the following is an extract: '[...] Aesthetics as a concept does not give us a specific reason for insisting that postcultural society should be made more beautiful. Is it possible to clarify productively, on the one hand, the difference between the element of 'grey subtext' intrinsic to contemporaneity in an overall sense, and mere effect of terminological viscosity on the other? Some people say that neither honest formulaicness nor ideotechnical intuition should ever be brought fully into play. Complex promiscuity demands complex chastity belts. The moral arms race under the current post-heroic empire catalyzes hitherto underinterpreted modes of mimetic terrorism, levels of 'dirty credulity', principles of teleological deterrence, cycles of feel-good hazardousness, aspects of triumphalist generosity, positions of bottomless self-colonization, and 'scandals' of smart stupidification. According to Chinese tradition, the painter must avoid putting eyes in his portrait to prevent it coming to life. Another supposition: in the next-best of all possible worlds we would all be 'beginners'. In an era where crocodiles and chameleons are traded for pigs and pandas, the advanced artist sets an embarrassing example'
