- The book comprises six articles by Colombian authors who delve into some aspect of the river from their disciplines. The visual dimension of the book is "Fábulas del Magdalena", illustrations and texts by Alberto Baraya that make evident the historical and cultural paradox that the river drags. "The Magdalena is the Colombian Nile. It is the deity that gives and takes life. The one who maintains our crops, calms our hunger, drags our dead, suffers our abuses and feeds the eyes thirsty for horizon. A being with multiple moods, which forces us to understand what his true nature is, to analyze how to forge a long-term relationship that benefits the river, the life it carries inside and the beings that use it.
