Summary

• 'Pride Power' is a project by jewelery designer Paul Derrez and (fashion) photographer MisjaB in which necklaces in rainbow colors by Derrez are photographed on various models by MisjaB. The cheerful and colorful procession of models is bundled in the publication PRIDE POWER. In 2021 Pride Amsterdam celebrated its 25th anniversary. To add luster to this event, Paul Derrez initiated the Pride Power project. He also invited people on the street in Zandvoort (the Netherlands) and in Amsterdam (the Netherlands) to proudly pose for photographer MisjaB, adorned with a variant of his Rainbow Chain. In the introduction, Derrez describes how he came out as gay in 1969 and that a new world opened up for him. At the same time, he expresses his concern that this personal and political freedom still has to be fought for, even within the European Community. • Pride Power' is een project van sieraadontwerper Paul Derrez en (mode)fotograaf MisjaB waarin halssieraden in regenboogkleuren van de hand van Derrez op verschillende modellen door MisjaB fotografisch zijn vastgelegd. De vrolijke en bonte stoet aan modellen is gebundeld in de publicatie PRIDE POWER. In 2021 bestond Pride Amsterdam 25 jaar. Om deze gebeurtenis luister bij te zetten initieerde Paul Derrez het project Pride Power. Daarbij nodigde hij mensen op straat uit in Zandvoort (Nederland) en in Amsterdam (Nederland) om getooid met een variant van zijn Rainbow Chain trots te poseren voor fotograaf MisjaB. In de inleiding beschrijft Derrez hoe hij in 1969 als homo uit de kast kwam en dat daarop een nieuwe wereld voor hem open ging. Tegelijkertijd spreekt hij zijn zorgen uit over het feit dat deze persoonlijke en politieke vrijheid nog steeds moet worden bevochten, zelfs binnen de Europese Gemeenschap. Verder schetst Derrez een korte geschiedenis van (het gebruik van) de ketting, de regenboog als symbool van de gay community en het ontstaan van Pride
