- The original Notice, whose author is not known, is extant. A copy, preserved in the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle in Paris, has title: Kin-yu, ou, Poisson doré dorade de Chine. The original Chinese scroll (also preserved in the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle) which accompanied the Notice is reproduced on a folded sheet as the frontispiece to this work.
