"Diálogos entre la fotografía y la historia social (Dialogues between photography and social history) is the outcome of the 1st Coloquio de Historia, Enseñanza y Conservación de la Imagen Audiovisual (UASMH, March 2017). The multidisciplinary nature of the participants, as well as those in charge and custodians of the documentary material and images that are preserved in their respective collections, showed the advances obtained in research in this field of study, the methodological challenges and the requirements regarding the organization, classification, conservation and dissemination of materials that preserve the memory of society. Indeed, the works gathered in this volume are irrefutable evidence of the importance of the use of images, the challenges in terms of their approach, interpretation, obtaining results and dissemination in various publications. You can also observe the limitations for its consultation, as well as the conditions in which graphic and audiovisual materials are found - not always in the best circumstances - in public and private repositories.
