"Faz-se necessário, pois, insistir em que o público-alvo da política de cotas também é alvo de ações e iniciativas diversas, muitas das quais igualmente oriundas de atos de governo, de políticas, de culturas: cortes orçamentários, retirada de direitos, banimentos vários, injúrias, agressões e (quando menos) críticas e discursos desqualificantes. E, no limite, genocídio, extermínio, torturas diversas. As histórias de superação não obliteram episódios opressivos, humilhantes, que tem testado, cotidianamente, a persistência do sonho. Os relatos, por óbvio, dão conta de vitórias, mas com todo o dispêndio de energia para lidar com grandes e pequenos obstáculos. Entraves estes absolutamente desnecessários, se a política de cotas já tivesse sido compreendida e absorvida pela dinâmica das universidades. Diante disso, quem iria se colocar, deliberadamente, na mira? Quem assumiria em sua voz a fala daqueles/as que, emudecidos/as por um sistema opressor que, tantas vezes, apenas os/as tolera em seu meio, por força de uma lei indigesta, já nem conseguem articular um grito em defesa de seu lugar nesse mundo? Pois houve estes e estas que, assim, se colocaram: muitas bandeiras foram levantadas aqui, pela defesa, permanência e ampliação da política de cotas. Os estudos acadêmicos que comparecem a esta reunião são incisivos e certeiros, em seu caráter afirmativo de direitos - como flechas direcionadas aos estereótipos e aos falsos consensos. Se estudantes cotistas não enunciaram uma profusão de citações teóricas, esta coletânea está perfumada de sua poesia, de seus contos, dos exercícios de (auto)ficção, de sua fala "destilada da experiência". O produto final é este relicário de afetos e reflexões, de cotistas e não cotistas, negras(os) e não negras(os), estudantes, egressas(os), docentes e técnica. E muito nos orgulha apresentar suas ideias que nascem das sensações. Que o conhecimento, antes sentido que enunciado, produto do "sonho que faz nascer os conceitos" e materializado em suas falas poéticas, possa levar a uma maior compreensão sobre a importância de um tema, cuja abordagem está longe de se esgotar. E que, nos próximos dez anos, epistemologias, coletâneas literárias, manuais, cartografias, dicionários, compêndios científicos, livros de arte e objetos de cultura se encham de escritas negras."
"It is necessary, therefore, to insist that the target public of the quota policy is also the target of different actions and initiatives, many of which also come from government acts, policies, cultures: budget cuts, withdrawal of rights , various banishments, insults, aggression and (at least) criticism and disqualifying speeches. And, at the limit, genocide, extermination, various tortures. Overcoming stories do not obliterate oppressive, humiliating episodes that have tested, on a daily basis, the persistence of the dream. The reports, obviously, tell of victories, but with all the expenditure of energy to deal with big and small obstacles. These obstacles are absolutely unnecessary, if the quota policy had already been understood and absorbed by the dynamics of universities. Given that, who would deliberately put themselves in the crosshairs? Who would assume in their voice the speech of those who, mute by an oppressive system that, so often, only tolerates them in its midst, by virtue of an indigestible law, are no longer able to articulate a cry in defense of their place in this world? Because there were men and women who, like this, placed themselves: many flags were raised here, for the defense, permanence and expansion of the quota policy. The academic studies that appear at this meeting are incisive and accurate, in their affirmative nature of rights - like arrows aimed at stereotypes and false consensus. If quota students did not enunciate a profusion of theoretical citations, this collection is perfumed with his poetry, his short stories, his (self)fiction exercises, his speech "distilled from experience". The final product is this reliquary of affections and reflections, of quota holders and non-quota holders, black and non-black, students, graduates, teachers and technicians. And we are very proud to present your ideas that are born from sensations. That knowledge, rather felt than enunciated, product of the "dream that gives birth to concepts" and materialized in his poetic speeches, may lead to a greater understanding of the importance of a theme, whose approach is far from being exhausted. And that, in the next ten years, epistemologies, literary collections, manuals, cartography, dictionaries, scientific compendiums, art books and culture objects will be filled with black writing."
