Summary
The new urban-territorial dynamic that characterizes the contemporary city is related to technological development, which has facilitated communication and movement in the territory since the end of the 20th century. Advances in these areas increase the possibilities of regional interaction, since the distances and physical barriers are no longer an obstacle as they may have been in the past. The new visions of the territory where the city-region is structured are analyzed in this book, which is divided into three parts: the first analyzes theoretical-conceptual issues and case studies related to urban planning and territorial, urban design and heritage aspects of urban centers, the works are carried out in different national (Mexico) and international (Ecuador) contexts; In the second part, the studies presented cover issues related to urban infrastructure, mobility and land use. The works are carried out in different cities of the country, such as: Mexico City, Puebla, Cuernavaca, and Guadalajara; finally, in part three of the book, the studies are directed towards the analysis in disciplinary areas of authors from Michoacán and the State of Mexico, and case studies of social and environmental issues, which are developed in the context of cities on the Veracruz coast, as well as in Culiacán, Zapotlán, Chapala and Guadalajara in Jalisco
