Summary
A tour of one of the most recurrent themes in art: food, Pre Hispanic, colonial, from the 19th century to the present, through artistic techniques is testimony to the changes in ingredients and life: from the milpa to processed food; from fonditas to the times of pizzas of the Perro Negroʺ, the frappuccinos of Starbucks and the supermarkets; from public spaces to the intimacy of kitchens. Through the works from 70 private and institutional collections, from pre-Hispanic times to contemporary art, presented in the temporary exhibition halls, the richness of the complex and varied Mexican gastronomy, considered among the five most prestigious in the world, is reaffirmed, and the enhancement of its artistic representation through the centuries.
