Summary
Almost four years after the First Round Table of Trujillo, its proceedings come to light. This event was the continuation of a symposium organized on April 19, 2015 by Alicia Boswell and Gabriel Prieto at the 80th Annual Meeting de la Society for American Archaeology (SAA) held in San Francisco, California. The symposium was entitled: "Recent Research and a Chronological Reevaluation of the Virú, Chicama and Moche Valleys". On that occasion, several authors met on a Sunday morning to discuss recent advances in the archaeology of the valleys of Chao, Virú, Moche and Chicama, a region of the Peruvian north coast that has been characterized (despite its several differences) by the homogeneity of the pre-Hispanic societies that developed in these territories. In this sense, it was important to bring together the researchers who have been working in these valleys of the north coast to share research results and propose new work agendas for the future. In this sense, the editors of this book were kind enough to organize the same symposium but with more researchers, specifically Peruvians in the city of Trujillo, Peru. "Thus, the name of the event was jointly agreed, which after some thoughtful discussions it was agreed that it should be called "I Round Table of Trujillo", in allusion to the historic event that occurred in 1946 at the Hacienda Chiclín, organized by Rafael Larco Hoyle (Margain 1946)."
