Summary
Texts on the monumental art and architecture of the city of Popayán "to produce a document as technical as possible." The historical essence of the colonial architecture of Popayán is something that lasts over several centuries, but it is separated by an event that divides its life in two: the before and after the earthquake of February 2, 1736. The baroque exerts a limited influence on the resurgence of Popayán, the city is rebuilt with the most important local architectural creations that occur in the second half of the 18th century (with certain typologies related to its Mudejar cultural heritage) and in the 19th century (neoclassical influence with a local expression)
