- In "The Elite behind the Scenes of São Paulo Modernism", Maria Eugenia Boaventura describes the family, journalistic and political trajectory of Antônio Carlos Couto de Barros (Campinas, 1896 - Campinas, 1966), exploring the rich iconographic and documentary material preserved in the family's collection and in different institutions in São Paulo. Based on rigorous research, Boaventura reconstructs the life of the lawyer, writer and one of the loyal collaborators of the modernist movement, a figure of notoriety and relevance in the cultural life of São Paulo in the 20th century with detail accounts of the relationship between writers, artists, businessmen and politicians made possible not only because of the Semana de Arte Moderna de 1922, but also originated by publications, art schools, social organizations and political parties.
