- China has fascinated Europeans for many hundreds of years. In the 18th century, contacts between Denmark and China gained momentum, and during the 19th century sailing on China became widespread. Did the Danish sailors who sailed to China bring home memories? some Chinese, others created in interaction between East and West. In the summer of 2023, 22 treasures of unique national importance from the National Museum have traveled on to an exhibition at Fanø Art Museum, and this book is about them and their world. We look into the rich river culture on the Perlefloden, and as something very special we get behind the scenes of the trading scene in which the European merchants operated, all the way to the places where the tea, silk, cotton and porcelain were produced.000Exhibition: Fanø Kunstmuseum , Fanø, Denmark (04.06. - 22.10.2023).
- Kina har fascineret europæere gennem mange hundrede år. I 1700-tallet tog kontakterne mellem Danmark og Kina fart, og i løbet af 1800-tallet blev sejladsen på Kina udbredt. De danske søfolk, der sejlede på Kina, bragte minder med hjem ? nogle kinesiske, andre skabt i samspil mellem øst og vest. I sommeren 2023 er 22 skatte af enestående national betydning fra Nationalmuseet rejst videre til en udstilling på Fanø Kunstmuseum, og om dem og deres verden handler denne bog. Vi ser ind i den rige flodkultur på Perlefloden, og som noget helt særligt kommer vi ind bag kulisserne på den handelsscene, som de europæiske købmænd agerede i, helt ud til stederne hvor teen, silken, bomulden og porcelænet blev produceret.000Exhibition: Fanø Kunstmuseum, Fanø, Denmark (04.06. - 22.10.2023).
