- This book by Florencia Malbrán delves into some contemporary Latin American works to find that proof of the present and to tell us that in the works of Pablo Siquier, Beatriz Milhazes, Ernesto Neto, Mario Bellatin, Jorge Macchi and Sergio Raimondi there is an indeterminacy that embraces uncertainty, in which a new concept of agency can be read. In her theorization of the post-medium, the loss of the iron determination of the disciplines arising from the contemporary condition, Florencia Malbrán does not limit herself to reading a combination or hybridization; On the contrary, its incisive investigation goes beyond the traditions of thought of each of these disciplines to interweave them in a reading capable of revealing, in the procedures, the condition that makes them possible, recognizing in Latin American conceptualism the inaugural moment in which alters the relationship between word and image, on the one hand, and between art and art theory, on the other. The proof of the present, then, is here, as it was for Tamara Kamenszain in contemporary poetry, an abandonment of formalist concerns to find, in the art and literature of our time, a proof of life.
