Summary
This is the first monographic study of the second gospel of prince Vasak (Treasury of Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Ms. 2568/13), which was produced in the last quarter of the 13th century. The main focus of this monography is determining the age of prince Vasak's Gospel. Our book offers a detailed analysus of both historical context and stylistic changes appearing in the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia at the end of the 13th century. It also gives a comprehensive account of the manuscript itself and thoroughly examines the orientation and the aspirations of the artists and the commissioner of this manuscript. -- Emma Chookaszian.
