- "It is now clear that Umm al-Rasas is Kastron Mefaa, known both from literary sources and inscriptions at the site; and it is therefore plausible that Mayfaʻah is simply Mefaa in Arabic transcription ... Now archaeology has restored the ancient site of Mayfaʻah - Kastron Mefaa to Islamic historiography, and it is clear that the place was indeed the scene of a meeting between Islam and Christianity, just as Islamic tradition had recorded." -- English abstract.
