Summary
"This book examines why Zambia's attempts at economic reform over the last two decades have met with so little success. The essays describe the policy changes adopted by the government and offer suggestions for future efforts to promote and sustain economic growth. For reform to succeed, and economic growth to revive in Zambia, the government has to drastically scale back its agenda, focus on stabilizing the economy (by eliminating the budget deficit), and revive productivity through policies that boost output in agriculture, mining, tourism, electricity, and financial services."--BOOK JACKET.
