Reproduces a collection of "32,000 pictures taken over the last 150 years, 8,000 of which were taken during Foto Marburg expeditions around 1940 and in 1994. 24,000 of the historically valuable photographs, taken between 1850 and 1940, are from the collection of the prominent researcher of the Baltic States, Georg von Krusenstjern (1899-1989), and represent the German-Baltic focus of this edition. The Baltic index presents, from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, a comprehensive collection of Baltic portraits, sacred and secular buildings, including hundreds of manor houses and their interiors, and paintings and sculptures, taken from church, public or private collections"--Publisher\u0027s website.
