Summary
The book is a representative selection of the work of 20 contemporary artists living and working in the multi-ethnic and multicultural province of Imbabura (in the northern highlands of Ecuador). Each selected artist answered the same questionnaire, and their answers represent an interesting series of coincidences and differences. The paintings presented in the book - published in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the Spanish foundation of the capital city of Ibarra - were selected by their creators; and their photographic portraits, when possible, were shot in their favorite place.
