Summary
In 1852 the Colombian Chorographic Commission initiated a 3rd expedition lead by Agustín Codazzi, José Jerónimo Triana and London painter Henry Price (b. England- d. New York). Price was sent with the expedition to draw and paint in watercolors the landscapes of the central mountains of the Andes and the daily scenes and antiquities of the provinces of Mariquita, Córdoba, Medellín and Antioquia. The exhibition displayed 55 of Price's watercolorss and drawings (acquired in 2005 by the Bank of the Republic from a private collector) along photographs, portraits and prints that illustrated the life of Price in Bogotá during the decade of 1840's.840's.
