Summary
Salome, stepdaughter of Herod, tetrarch of Judea, is fascinated by Herod\u0027s prisoner John the Baptist, but he repulses her advances. Herod commands Salome to dance for him, promising her anything she desires. She dances and asks for the head of John as her payment.
