  • Messiah
  • Judaism > Early works to 1800
  • Christianity > Early works to 1800
Note
  • "The author of the following work was a Spanish Jew, named Isaac Orobio, who wrote in his native language: it was afterwards ... translated into French, by a Jew of the name of Henriquez, from the manuscript of the author which was never published: this person appears to have retouched or corrected the translation"--P.9.
  • The ascription of this work to Orobio is doubtful although BN states that it is an abridged translation of his Prevenciones divinas contra la vana idoltria de las gentes. Barbier (II. 970) quotes Eusebe Salverte who credits Baron d'Holbach with a considerable part of the work.
