Summary
"Fall River Outrage" is an account of one of the most sensational and widely reported murder cases in the early nineteenth-century America. In 1832, Sarah Cornell, a pregnant mill worker, was found hung in the stock yeard of a Rhode Island farm. The investigation that followed implicated a prominent Methodist minister, Ephraim Kingsbury Avery, in Cornell's pregnancy and murder.
