- The original Spanish manuscript is lost. An Italian translation by G.B. Ramusio was published in his "Terzo volume delle navigazioni e viaggi," Venetia, 1556. It was first translated from the Italian back into Spanish in 1849 by Joaquín García Icazbalceta, and published as: Relación de la conquista del Perù. The present edition is a new Spanish translation of the first Italian ed., which is also reprinted here.
