The Summer Institute, sponsored by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, was directed by Dr. Hong-Yee Chiu and Dr. S.I. Rasool. The material covers a broad range of topics in the physics of the Sun, the structure of the planets and their atmospheres, and the origin and evolution of the solar system and of planetary atmospheres, and presents a view of current problems associated with these fields."--Foreword.
