Crawford (cf. his edition in Grein and Wülker's Bibliothek der angelsächsischen prosa, bd. x, 1921) is "not a translation of the Hexameron of St. Basil", but drawn from various sources, mainly Beda. The Admonitio ad filium spiritualem (p. [31]-57) is a free translation from St. Basil, also by Aelfric.
