Summary
A diary describing the beginning of the war in Płock, the ghetto, its liquidation in 1942, and deportation of the Jews to concentration camps. The last notes are from the internment camp of Soldau (Działdowo, Poland). The manuscript, written in Yiddish, was hidden in a bottle and found in Radom during the renovation of a house in 1978. Guterman (1903-1944) died fighting in the Warsaw uprising. His son Yakov survived the war and lives in Israel. The book is supplemented by an account by Yakov on Israel and the Lebanon war, in which he lost his son. His message calls for peace.
