Summary
"The following papers were presented on April 29, 1988 at the Fifty-third Annual Meeting of the Society for American Archaeology in Phoenix, Arizona. Comments of discussant E. Charles Adams, Director of the Arizona State Museum Homol'ovi Research Program, and of David Wilcox, Curator of Anthropology, Museum of Northern Arizona, have been incorporated. Immediately following the symposium, we add the introductory paper by Jeffery Burton which summarizes earlier research efforts from the area. For the purposes of this volume, our study area (Frontispiece) spans the reaches of the Little Colorado River from Homol'ovi Ruins east to Springerville near the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, and from the Painted Desert of Petrified Forest and the Hopi Buttes south to the vicinity of Showlow on the Mogollon Rim"--Page x
