Summary
Northern Namibia is home to two Bantu tribes whose knowledge of nature and diversified hunting techniques are by no means inferior to those of the Bushmen. They, too, have religious and magical practices by which they hope to improve the hunter's fortune and pacify dangerous animals. Their traditional poems, songs and proverbs, in which specific characteristics of wild animals are praised or mocked and related to human behaviour, are but samples of an extensive and highly artistic oral tradition.
