Summary
  • This report describes the geology of each of the major water control projects undertaken thus far by the Tennessee Valley Authority, an agency of the U.S. Government.
  • In the present bulleting we are concerned primarily with the direct engineering relations of geologic facts and geologic structures to engineering structures and for the moment will disregard the other points raised in the original definition of Engineering Geology. The discussion will be further limited to such engineering structures and works as have been carried out by the Tennessee Valley Authority along the Tennessee River and its tributaries, with only incidental reference to a few other matters which are rather definitely related to that subject.
