- Summary
- Floods and Flood Control is one of a series of special technical reports covering important phases of the work of TVA's Office of Engineering. The principle concern of the report is the technical engineering aspects of floods and flood control of the Tennessee River Basin and the effect of this control downstream on the lower Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.
- This report covers the development, operation, costs, and benefits of the Tennessee River system for flood control based upon the integrated multiple-purpose system of reservoirs. The subsequent Flood Damage Prevention program, of vital significance to communities throughout the Valley, is the subject of a later publication and is mentioned only briefly herein.
