- Summary
- "The significance of Romantic theory in today's literary criticism still remains ambivalent. Though it seems to have been generally acknowledged that there indeed existed a common orientation in Romantic discourse such as the exaltation of spontaneous emotional expression, such a commonality is only a superficial categorisation of the theoretical substrate of the Romantic theory which we attempt to capture. This book attempts to argue that the structural backbone or innate nexus of the phenomenal commonness of Romantic literary theories could be attributed, in a narrower sense, to organicism."--BOOK JACKET.
