Summary
Memoirs of four sisters, born to a German Jewish family in Augsburg in 1900, 1906, 1908, and 1912. After the rise of the Nazi regime, when the situation of the Jews began to deterioriate, the family made plans for emigration. Elisabeth immigrated in 1937 to Palestine, as did the parents in 1939; Sophie and Gertrud immigrated in 1938 to England. Lotte, who was not able to continue her medical studies in Germany, moved to Torino in 1933 and to England in 1939.
