Summary
Study examines the users perspective of assessment instruments currently in use in probation services in England and Wales. It concentrates on ACE and LSI-R and adapted versions of these tools. The study concluded that assessment tools were widely used and performed a variety of functions, including assisting in the production of PSRs. The report also summarizes particular benefits and limitations, and makes recommendations for the development of a national assessments tools.
