- Summary
- "Four decades of letters between three generations of this Webb family reveal the challenges, disappointments, hopes and frustrations from the time of the first settler to the better settled later generations. Noah, the patriarch of the family, migrated from Westchester, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia to New Jerusalem, New Brunswick in the 1820's. Sixty years later one son and many grandchildren continued the migration by moving to Massachusetts, USA. It was from Westchester County, New York that Noah's grandfather had migrated in 1783 to Cumberland County, NS. I take my pen in hand is a story told in plain unvarnished words through over twelve dozen letters, written at Queens County and York County New Brunswick kitchen tables in the 19th century"--Back cover.
