- Examines the complex process of rapprochement between Germany and Israel between 1945-65, with a focus on the Israeli perspective and against the background of Middle-Eastern politics. Based on American, British, Israeli, and German source material. Negotiations concerning reparations were at the heart of the process. Other aspects included antisemitism in the Western occupation zones, the German war crimes trials, the Eichmann trial in Israel, and the effect of Arab anti-Zionism on German-Israeli relations, especially in the GDR.
